JUSTICE SIR ROLAND WILLIAMS.

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Loxdox, February 5. Lord Herschell, the Lord High Chancellor, denied any imputation of misconduct in connection with Justice Sir Roland Williams. He admitted it was possible, for expediency, that a more permanent transfer was contemplated, but so far as Sir Robert Romer's appointment to Justice Williams' position went it was only temporary. He resented Sir Roland Williams' action with regard to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and said the statement that he desired to screen some person was absolutely untrue. Lord Herschell asserts he did not intend to transfer Justice Sir Roland Williams from the Bankruptcy Court against his will.
