Nkw Brighton Excursion.—An excursion will be run by the City and Suburban (Tramway Company to New Brighton tonight. The excursion will be accompanied by the Engineers' Band, which will play dance music on the Pier. Garden Partt.—A garden party in consection with St. Mary's, Merivale, will be held in the grounds kindly lent by Mr R. H. Rhodes to-morrow, from 3 to 7 p.m. Sumnkr Swimming Sports.—The prizes In connection with these sports, which take placo on Tuesday next, are now on view at Messrs Milner and Thompson's. They include a pair of very large and handsome Vases. School of Art.—The distribution of prizes in connection with the School of Art will take place in the College Hall tomorrow night. Mr T. S. Aquatic.—Considerable interest ia being, evinced in the boat race to-day between two of the ladies of the Opera Company. One of the contestants, who ia suffering from a sprained wrist, has had it bandaged by a member of the Ambulance Association well Weed in first aid, and the betting is strongly in this lady'a favour. ■ Athletics.—The combined test meeting of the C.A.A.O. and the Pioneer Bicycle Clnb will take place to-morrow at Lancaster Park. The members of the Ladies' Atalanta Cycling Club have kindly offered to provide afternoon tea, and if the weather is fcue a goodly gathering should be present on the occasion. Drainage Board.—An ordinary meeting of the Draiuage Board was held yesterday. , Present—Messrs J Deans (Chairman), G. Molntyre, C. Bargees, H. Crooks, a Palairet, and J. W. Mc Alpine. The Board, without transacting any business, decided to Adjourn for s> week owing to the death and the funeral of Mrs Smart, wife of one of the members of the Board, and tip send to Mr Smart a letter of condolence on bis bereavement. Melbourne, was re-opened on Saturday evening, after being closed for decoration.
