THE ELBE DISASTER.
SCENES ON Tffi SINiONG SHIP. I Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. \ Bottebdam, February 8. The officers and crew of the steamer Craithie, in reply to a question of the Court, were unanimous in their declaration that they were unaware the Elbe was sinking. February 4. Vevera, one of the survivors of the ill-feted steamer Elbe, declares that many of the passengers were crushed like rats in the bows when the contact took place. The screaming of the women and children was only equalled by their praying, but he asserts that the blasphemy of a number of the men was something fearful.
