EMPLOYERS' LIABILITY ACT.
A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that tho Minister for Labour imhes it known that any attempt on the part of employers' to defeat the operations of tho Employers Liability Act, by makincj deduction* from tho wages of workmen in their employ, is distinctly illegal.
DRUIDS' CONFERENCE.
Tho Druids' Conference opens at Wellington taday. Delegates from Victoria and all paitsof the colony will be present. Tho delegates were entertained at a social in Wellington on Saturday night, and were driven out to the suburbs yesterday afternoon.
