Another day's play in this match has left the game in a fairly evoo and very intetett* . ing state. The day was a faic aweljerer, and, as the wioket waa a good one, it is difficult to account for the all scoring, There was a more than usually f, large number of spectators present, .and . Dire Ledsham, assisted by other ladies, dispensed afternoon tea,.which reduced-the , discomfort of the intense heat considerably. • With one wicket down for 4, Ogier and White continued the M.O.G. inning*. l'h«' . former did nob stay long, but Wheatley helped White to. raise the score to 32. Twc wickets then fell quickly, and as Wheatley left at 53 the prospect was not very cheering for the blue- and white. However. ' Lawrence then came to the. rescue end, receiving valuables, assistance >;f com-- • Reese, Aehby, and Treweek, the: total ; was token to. 163. Lawrence carjriw? in , his bat for a serviceable and capitally played 56. Gunthorpe bowled. , excellently, but had to go off, as he.wtt -~ suffering from a strain. The fielding waa : good, though somewhat patchy, one or two catches being missed, that; had they been held, would have reduced the Af.0.0. score considerably. .
