The last test was with 100 ft of hose, the Deluge sending a stream which horizontally covered , about two chains, and vertically rose between 50ft and 60ft. The city engines used indiarubber lined hose, a large portion of which was of recent importation. The trial appeared to be satisfactory, and unmistakably manifested the, advantage the engine supplied with hot water had over that which was not.
