The barque Durisdeer arrived on Saturday morning from Calcutta, after an uneventful passage of eighty-two days,, She is in Charge of. Captain! Webster, and brings a full cargoibf corn sacks and wool packs for Messrs G. G. Stead and. P. Cunningham and Co., who are her agents. The steamer John Anderson ran an excursion trip to Port Robinson on Saturday night; and was to leave that port again for Lyttelton last night. A good'number of persons availed themselves of the opportunity to visit Cheviot. The New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Bankhall, Captain Quinn, sailed early on Saturday morning for London ! direct with a full cargo of wool, skins, I" tallow, &c. She left the Gladstone Pier about 6 a.m. and went straight away to sea ' with a splendid south-west, breeze.. The barque was in first-class trim for a rapid passage home. ■; The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's well-known ship Soukar, 'Captain Carden, was towed to sea on Saturday. She castoff from the wharf about mid-day, but just as she was leaving her berth some of the members of her orew jumped .ashore and deserted, The vessel was compelled to drop, anchor in the stream till the vacant berths were filled up, and' she then pro* ceeded to sea with a steady • north-easterly breeze which had replaced the south wester of the morning. - The Soukar' takes home a. full cargo of wool, tallow, oats, &c M and is in excellent trim.
