TYPOGRAPHICAL ASSOCIATIONS.

__ > • CANTERBURY. A special general meeting of the Canterbury Typographical Association was held ou Saturday evening, at the Foresters' HalL The President (Mr W. Culien) occupied the chair. The following reaolution was unanimously adopted :—" That the Board be authorised to take ail necessary steps to register the Association under the Industrial Conciliation and * Arbitration Act, 1894." The annual meeting then took place. The report and balance sheet as submitted by the retiring Board were unanimously adopted. The report stated that an amicable settlement between the Association and Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs had been arrived at, and that the latter were now working in full accord with the Association. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr \V. A. Williams; Vice-President, Mr F. Row; Hon. Treasurer, Mr A. T. W. Bradwell (re-elected); Secretary, Mr F. C. Gerard (re-d6ected); Board members, Messrs J. Henderson, D. and VV.'JttcNi.:. lnara ;. Auditors, Messrs R. P. D. Maurice and J ? Wheatley ; Trade and Labour Council Delegates, ilesars E. Sandford and 1). Edmonds.' The report of tne Committee on old age pensions was read and ordered to be printed for distribution to members. The revised rules were considered and adopted. TBLEQEAM.) . WELLINGTON, January 20. The annual meeting of the Wellington Typographical Society was held on Saturday .night. The' report showed the Society to be in a sound condition. It waa decided to register under the Industrial Arbitration and Conciliation Act. The balance sheet showed the receipts, including £137 brought forward, to be £274, and the expenditure £84, leaving a credit balance of £190. Nothing of importance was transacted at the meeting. , ' ;
