Mr Valentine has arranged with Nelson Bros, to distribute produce at the consolidated rate of a halfpenny 'per pound for butter .and '30 of a penny for oheese. These prices include all London charges and cold storage for two months. . The importers are asking the Australian exporters .of tallow to assist them in securing the rapid discharge of tallow cargoes, as at present tne shipowners utilise it as ballast on the homeward voyage and sometimes a month elapses before a consignment} ia discharged after the vessel's arrival. Sydney, January 19. The lemon growers of Italy are becoming formidable rivals to the looat growers. Between the local seasons two or three hundred caaes are received from Italy every third week, realising 22s 6d to 25s per case. Even at the most unfavouraoje part of the season the price rarely descends below 18a, whioh is a considerable advance on the price for Sydney lemons.
