A PECULIAR ACCIDENT.
On New Year's Day Mr HoweU, pi Timaru, was driving to the Caledonian sports there, and was just at the railway bridge when the firsD express came along. The mare in the buggy wa? so frightened that she dropped dead at the roadside; the shock of the fright probably acting on a weak heart.
