SALE OF BLOOD STOCK.

(rams. Assocuatiok teucqram.) AUCKLAND. December 31. A sale of racing stock took place at Sylvia Park this afternoon, Mr J. M. Phllson of Hunter and Nolan officiating. Among those present were:—Messrs G. G. Stead (Christchurch), E. Mitchelaon, M. Crowther, M.H.R., _. H. Gollau, J. Marshall. Major Pit), Messrs E. D. O'Rorke, Potterand D_an(byduey), Smith, Moore (Napier). Watson und Fiunerty (Taranaki) and « number of local racing men. Messrs L. D. and L. A. Nathan's lot consisted of seven yearlings. At the sale of trottinjz stock bred in New South Wales, the property of Messrs Samuel Hordern, F. Palfrey and Why den, this morning, at Potter's paddock, three hundred persons assembled around the rostrum. Among those present were Messrs G. G. Stead and Thomas Morrin, besides a number of well-known figures In the racing and trotting world. Mr J. Philson (of the firm of Hunter and Nolan) conducted the sale. , Mr S. Horderu'a trotting stock were first offered, but only realised low prices. The buyers at the sale were as follows:—

Total ... 147 Mr F. Palfrey's lots were then submitted. For the Ally Peerless, by Vanilose, Mr Dewar gave 70gs ; for the filly Alice, by Vaniliere, to Ja*. Martin for 70g«. The colt Pilot and mare Rita were passed in at 50gs and 150g~ respectively. The tatters best bid was 130gs. bold on behalf of Mr W. H.
