SINGULAR OCCURRENCE.
At Wellington, the other day, a horse attached to a baker's cart was seized with spasms. The driver, a lad, procured a small bottle of gin, and was pouring some of the liquid down the animal's throat when the brute bit the bottle in two and swallowed one of the pieces, sustaining such injuries internally that it had to be destroyed.
