AUCKLAND. November 19. Since Three Star returned home he has been sent to Messrs Nathan's estate at Whitford Park, where he will be indulged in a lengthy spell. Three Star will therefore be missing from the runners for the Auckland Cup and Derby. Lottie., Royal Rose and Impulse arrived safely home on Saturday night. Lottie is very sore, due to the hard ground at Riccarton. Notwithstanding the great reputation Auckland has gained in breeding thoroughbreds, the only stallions exhibited at the local show were Eros, by St. George— Idalia; Gipsy King,.by Le Loup—Git-ana; Billingsgate, by Izaak Walton—Slander; Handsome Jack, by St. Leger—Radiance. Mr M. F. Baird, of Hawera, the judge, awarded first to Ero., and deservedly too. . The Pakuranga Hunt Club wound up the I season with an enjoyable ball on Friday night last. November 20. Matters io the racing world are very quiet indeed this week, and there is little to chronicle. The Auckland Cup and SteeDlechase are talked about and a few double event wagers have been written thereon, but until Mr Evett's weights appear on November 30th it i<* not fair to owners to publish them. If Blue Fire is brought here she should have all her own way in tbe Derby, for Forme is the only candidate we have with any chance of sueceessfully competing against Mr Stead's filly. To-day H. Goodman's pair, Claremoat and Rancour, were scratched for the Derby. The Wellington Park yearlings are looking well, aad a number of visitors have been inspecting them of late. I will deal with the juveniles to be offered in my notes shortly. There are only four of the brood mares now to foal. The jumper Fright, who has been.indulged in a spell, is again in work. Tha friands of Mr S. Bradley, owner of

Impulse, the New Zealand Cup winner, entertained him at a social and banquet la*t night in the Terminus Hotel. Onehunga. After a first-class spread was discussed songs, recitations and addresses were given. The githering will be long remembered a- one of the b»st ever indulged in at Onehnnga.
