» At Amberley. a young man, named Wornall. had his arm broken yesterday, through being thrown from his horse. Hβ is a eon of Mr G. A. Wornall, of Broomfield.—L*ter in the day, another young man. named Tho3. Chamberlain, a sou of Alre Chamberlain, had some of hia ribs broken while shoeing a horse, which threw j him down and stood on him. —Oα Monday / last, a boy, named Donald McLean, had I one o£ hia eyes very serioaaly damaged by auolher boy poking a stick accidentally into his eye. The eyelid was severely cut, and the white of the eye had a considerable portion of it cut away, but it is believed that the sight is nofc injured.
(PREBS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) AUCKLAND, November 29. A Native named Iwi was drowned at Whangarei last night. He and a companion had been drinking and thought they were going home. Iwi walked right over the wharl, and someone, hearing a sp'.a.h, ran along and had hard work to keep the other Native from falling in. The body was recovered.
A man named Astley was knocked overboard from the fishing boat Nighthawk, not Seabird as erroneously stated, at Waiheke aud was drowned. The body has not been recovered. He leaves a wife and family in poor circumstances. The boat was making for Waiheke Island. Tbe night was squally aud she jibed. The boom knocked Astley overboard.
