Iwi walked right over the wharl, and someone, hearing a sp'.a.h, ran along and had hard work to keep the other Native from falling in. The body was recovered.

A man named Astley was knocked overboard from the fishing boat Nighthawk, not Seabird as erroneously stated, at Waiheke aud was drowned. The body has not been recovered.
