(Before R. Beetham, Esq., S.M.) - Civil Cases.—Ritohis (per Official Aa* ■ignee in Bankruptcy, Wellington) v Riley, claim £14 13s 6d. Mr Fleslier for plaintiff, Mr Beattie for defendant. It was alleged that in 1888 Ritchie, then manager of the Metropolitan Hotel, became guarantor for a suit of clothes eupplied to defendant by Beath and Co., who sued Ritchie on the guarantee and recovered (with cobta £8 18s 6d). It was also alleged that defendant ran up a bill, amounting to £3 15s, for board and lodging, and borrowed £2 in cash. Ritchie had aince been made . bankrupt/, and the Official Assignee now sued in his estate. Judgment was for plaintiff for £6 14s 6d, the cost of the suit of clothes, with coats on the amount recovered. Martin v Smith, claim £6 9s, for blacksmith's work. Mr Bishop for plaintiff. Begg v Metcalf, aclaim for £4 5a on iudgment summons (Mr Weeton for the creditor), was adjourned till November 22nd.
