POSTAL AND TELEGRAPH RETURNS.

WELLINGTON, October 26.
The Postal revenue for the September quarter was £48,523, against £47,962 for the same period last year. The Telegraph revenue was £22,423, against £24,239, exclusive of the value of< Government telegrams, ,which amounted in value to £5994 and £6472 respectively. For the quarter money orders were issued to the value of £192,838, as against £190,823 for a like period iii 1893. The following were the Savings Bank transaction* for the quarter ending September 21st :—
The totals for the September quarter, 1893, were £650.853 and £547,454 respectively. Daring the quarter 82,083 postal notes were issued of the value of £29,185 ; while for the September quarter, 1893, there were 74,385 notes issued of the value of £26,449. The notes paid during the past quarter were 81,491 of the value of £28,526, and in the same quarter last year 73,905, value £25,710.
