POLO.

NEW ZEALAND POLO ASSOCIATION, The annual meeting of the New Zealand Polo Association was held in Wellington on September 28th. Mr J. G. Wilson occupied the chair. The following Clubs were represented:—Hawke's Bay, Mr A. J. Rutherford ; Auckland, Mr E. D. O'Rorke ; Ashburton, Mr F. Lowe ; Takapuna, Mr A. Cooper; Rangitikei, Mr J. G. Wilson. On the motion of Mr Cooper, seconded by Mr Rutherford, tbe annual balance-sheet as presented was passed, Ou the motion of Mr O'Rorke, seconded by Mr Rutherford, the question of trophies in connection with the Saville Cup was held over till next meeting. The Tauranga _*010 Club, proposed by Mr Cooper and seconded by Mr Lowe, was elected to the Association. The application of Hawke's Bay Club to register their . colours black, red and yellow stripes, was greed to. Mr O'Rorke proposed, Mr Cooper seconded —"That the new book of rules, &c, as presented by the Committee, be accepted, and tbat a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Messrs Rhodes, Wilson and Parker, the Committee appointed to draw them up." Agreed to. Oh the motion of Mr O'Rorae, seconded by Mr Rutherford, it was resolved to request his Excellency the Governor to be President and Mr Gerard of Christohurch to be Vice-President for tbe coming year. Mr Cooper proposed and Mr Rutherford seconded —"That the Committee of Management for the coming year be Hon. Mr Parker and Messrs Wilson, O'Rorke, and; Heatoh Rhodes." Carried. On the motion of Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr Cooper, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes was elected Hon." Secretary and Treasurer for the coming year, and it was resolved that a vote of thanks be accorded him for his past services as Hon. Secretary to the N.Z.P.A., also thav the Assooiation pay for the services of a ClerkMr O'Rorke proposed, and Mr Cooper seconded—" That the cost of the new book ol rules should be 2s 6d each for boundleather copies, and 6d for copies with paper covers, and that the Hon. Sec be authorised to give copies free to'whom he thinks fit.*' Agreed to. It was resolved that the next meeting of the Association be held in Christcuurch during the Show week in November next. The meeting then adjourned.
