SENIOR MATCHES.
The three orders of matches under the Canterbury Rugby Union were simultaneously commenced on Saturday afternoon, when the weather was fine and the grounds in good order. In the championship Merivale beat East Christchurch by 31 points to nothing, Christchurch beat Lin wood by 26 points to 3 points, and Canterbury College were beaten by Kaiapoi by 17 points to 3 points.
