TE ARO RAILWAY STATION.

WELLINGTON, April 28. Under instructions from the Minister, the Under-Secretary for Publio Works ha* written to the Wellington Harbour Board 8»d the City Council, inquiring whether these bodies still persisted in their objection to the construction of the railway goods shed at the Te Aro end of the city and the consequent reclamation from the harbour oi land required for the same. The letter states that the Government still considers that such a station is required in order to; render the extension of the railway to Te Aro of the fullest use to the large population at the southern end of the city, anc tne Under-Secretary ia instructed to point out that the prosecution of the work would afford employment for a considerable num. ber of men, and tend largely to relieve the congestion at present existing in the labour market in the city.
