AMALGAMATED SHEARERS , AND GENERAL LABOURERS , UNION.

The Conference resumed yesterday morning, Mr Kelly (the President) having to leave, briefly bade farewell. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded him. Mr VV. H. Limdon was then voted to the chair.

Ib was resolved that the printing of a pamphlet report of the Conference should be done at Christchurch, and that all printing in connection with this Society should be henceforth done at Union oficea only.

lc was resolved—That, in the opinion of this Conference it is desirable to establish a uniform, hour system ac threshing mills. The opinion was also expressed tnat tne food provided at many machines was of a very inferior nature.

It was resolved—" That, in view of the great advantage Secured to the woykers of this colony duriug the last three years as the result of labour representatives, this Conference wishee the New Sputh Wales Labour party success afe.th&'geaeral election in that colony."* . The Secretary was instructed to scud a copy of the foregoing resolution to the New South Wales Worker.

It was resolved—" That this Conference of the New Zealand Workers , Union conveys ita hearty congratulations to the Australian Shearers' Union : on the successful issue of the recent Conference, which has resulted in the amalgamation of the Australian Shearers' ami General Labourers' Union 3, and sincerely trusts that it will be the means of giving an impetus to the labour movement in Australia."

It was suggested that the workers of the other colonies snould be warned of the true state of the labour market in New Zealand, with a view of preventing an influx into this colony.

A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Mr Hogg, M.H.8., for his services in connection with the formation of the Masterton branch; The hearty thanks of the Conference were also tendered to the labour members, to the executive, to Mrs Garmson, to Mr Seymour (Chairman of the Oamaru branch), and to Mr O'Brien (general Secretary), for their services in connection with the Benmore affair, and to the Lyttellon Times and Press. v It was resolved that the next Conference should be held at Temuka.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Lundon.

Mr W. W. Coluks, M.H.R., briefly addressed the delegates in supporting the motion.
