THE DRAINAGE BOARD.
A conference of delegates from local bodies to consider matters in connection with tho Christchurch Drainage Board was held last evening in the City Council Chamber. A resolution was carried in favour of abolishing the Board's sinking fund, but a proposal to give the Drainage Board increased rating power was negatived. Mr Hopkins obtained a catch vote in favour of the City Council having control of the sewage system, and that the Drainage Board be reconstituted.
