GRAIN AND PRODUCE. If there has been any change in this h.* leas market it certainly has not been h» «,. better. With bitterly disappointing Jr£! and increasing financial strain, the pasuW of the grain grower as well as the buverii becoming almost untenable. It i 8 useless speculating on the future course of tha values of wheat, as the shrewdest and oldest traders have had their experience falsified by the unwelcome turn of the market during tho last two years. The weather leaves no grounds for com. plaint, and threshing ia proceeding without interruption. Wheat—Sales continue to be made at the quotations given below, and the figures we give tell their owu tale. Those who can afford it have either not entered the market or are shippiug on their own account by Bailer, in tho hope that within the next few months the uuexpooted may or will happen. " Oats have shown further weakness, and buyers do not show any inclination to lay in atockß. Although the ioiu did not con. tinue long enough to do any material damage.yet it has been suffioieutly serious to mar the prospects of our shipments in over-sea markets, discoloured oats bains' looked upon with suapioiou. Baulky—The market for malting samples is somewhat easier, whilst for thiu and dla. coloured lines there is no enquiry. Grass Sheds—Ryegrass is coming to hand very slowly, and anything like a good sample is eagerly Bnapned up, so that today's quotations aro well maintained. This position therefore is not likely to be altered whilst the extra demand for autuniu towing < requirements continues. In cocksfoot there is no chance of doing a profitable business as the balk of tho samples so far submitted aro undoubtedly the poorest we havo seen for many years past, being light, spongy and foggy. w Beans and Peas—Beans well saved and of a good colour aro saleable at our quotations. Peas are offering freely, but growers' and buyers' ideas of values are distinctly divergent, and only a few sales have been effected. Dairy Produce—Neither butter nor cheese show auy improvement in the absence of any speculative demand.
