Kiwi, for Cheviot, Kaikoura and Wellington, was postponed till last night, when she got away with a full consignment of cargo. The schooner Aratapu, Captain Murray, sailed about noou yesterday for Cheviot with a full cargo of timber. The visit of H.M.s. Orlando to port is proving a source of pleasure to the residents there in more ways than one. The excellent brass band on board discourses really first-class music, morning and evening, and hundreds of paople visit the wharf where the steamer is lying to enjoy, the playing. This is the first time a war vessel of her size and calibre has come alongside the wharf, and the doings on board are watched with the utmost interest. The barque Van Galen baa almost completed her loading, and will take her departure for London in the course of a few days. H.tt.B. Tauranga leaves Lyttelton to-day for Wellington. The four-masted ship Hinemoa is almost ready for sea. She was expected to take her departure, but has been delayed by the non-arrival of some mutton. She will probably get away early next week. The s.s. Flora arrived yesterday morning from Wellington. After landing her passengers, and handling a quantity of cargo, she went on to Dunedin. The steamer Orowaiti sailed last night for Westport. The Timaru Harbour Board's dredge was placed in dock yesterday forenoon, and the work of cleaning, painting, and fitting out, proceeded with.
