presa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Brisbane, January 27. The steamer Jvanabookar was owned la Sydney, where icnost of the ct6\? belong. She was bound to Launceston with a cargo of guano. The captain and seven men iv one boat and tlie first mate and eight men in anotlier boat left the sinking vessel together, but during the night they separated. Neariug the land the captain's boat capsized in the dark, and oue ot the occupants perished, but the rest managed to reach the shore. The boac was washed ashore, and three 9f the men subsequently eet out in her 10 obtain assistance, and wore picked u p by a steamer. The mate'a boat is ■till missing.
The Xauabookar is the steamer nhich sank the a.s. Centennial in Sydney harbor a few years ago.
