BURGLARY AT MENINDIE.
(S. A. Register.) F'-r the past thirty-seven year* the Hon. G. C. Walteer, M.P., has resided ac " The B»iir«," Menindtt?, in fancied security from the enterprising burglar; buc on Saturday he ana hi* family had th ir confidence "rudely disturbed by discovering that the mansion had been broken into on Friday night, and a quantity of valu&b'e jewellery and a large sura on money stolen. A representative of the Register called on Mr "Walker, who showed him over the scene of the burglar's operations,, and said: — "Early this morning my housekeeper called mc, aud asked if I had taken ray watch down, as it was not in its usual place. The wiudow'of my dressingroom was open, and on examination I discovered tbac a gold watch, worth seventy guinea*--, had disappeared, also a Waterbury Watch which I keep to check the other bj. Four of. ray pins were also gone, &C.* Nothing can show better the estimation iv which the unpretentious reliable-Waterbur? is held by men of means.
