RIOTS IN SICILY.
A PROTEST AGAINST TAXATION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Bomb, December 27. Persistent rioting is reported from Siciij, the outbreak being due to the pressure of local taxation. Mobs are burning the public buildings and tbe residences of the tax collectors, while an immense amount of damage is being done in other directions. Signor Crispi has appealed to the Municipal authorities on the Island to see that the taxes are levied as equitably as possible, and is sending troops to maintain order, Iv the riots in. Sicily four parsons were killed and many wounded.
