Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations :— THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28. For Northern Ports and Greymouth, per Herald, at 12.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m. ; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Westporc, per Takapuna, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per Tarawera, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30. For Northern Ports and India, per Maori, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Chatham Islands, per Kahu, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m.;- guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4. For United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America and West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, &c, and also for Northern ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows : — Ordinary letters, 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m. ; money orders, 4 p.m. ; registered lettere, 5 p.m.; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train.
