[from otjb correspondent.] AUCKLAND, September 27. Acting under instructions received from the Government, the Registrar of Electors for Parnel', Eden and Manukau has appointed two gentlemen to canvass these electoral districts in order to enrol electors chiefly in connection with the franchise of women. Each canvassei is supplied with a written authority signed by the Registrar. This procedure will no doubt greatly facilitate the work of enrolment. Between two and three thousand women have already had their names placed ou the electoral rolls for Auckland City, Parnell, Eden and Manukau. The Port Albert district has been actively canvassed, and nearly every woman placed the Waitemata roll by the temperance party.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) WELLINGTON, September 27. About 1700 claims from women for enrolment on the city roll were received up to 3 o'clock this afternoon. TIHARU, September 27. Seven hundred and twenty new claims for enrolment have been received for Timaru, about one-third of which are from men. OAJIARU, September 27. Arrangements were in progress to make a thorough canvass of the Oaniaru district for the enrolment of women, but to-day five men were put on by the Registrar to do the work, which is expected to take a week.
