MOKIHINUI COAL.
(press association telegram.) WESTPORT, September 15. The first twenty-five trucks of coal from I the Mokihinui Coal Company's mine arrived this evening by train, which, on reaching j the station, was received with cheers by the crowd assembled. Subsequently Mr Moy- j nihan, solicitor to the Company, on behalf i of the Director*, invited the representative gathering to drink success to the Company. The County Chairman responded on behalf of the Directors. Mr Young, Engineer to the Westport Coal Company, and Mr Peterkin, Railway Manager and representative of the Cardiff Coal Company, congratulated the Company on the successful result of their operations. The coal is of excellent quality, and fully equals Coalbrookdale. Five hundred tons will be shipped next week.
