The annual Thursday Popular Concerts at the Tuam street Theatre will be resumed on Thursday evening next, when an excellent programme will be presented. Master EL Nable, of the Lilliputian Opera Company, appeared on Saturday morning in a new character, but was not so successful as in bis musical efforts on the stage. He procured a steed from Mr Barlow, of the Carlton HoteL and performed an equestrian feat which had a disastrous finale. In riding through the city he lost control of the animal, and it galloped along Hereford street, and violently collided with a horse and trap standing in front of Messrs Hat man and Stevens' buildingai The shock threw the barneaaed horse down and broke off both shafts. In the trap was seated Mrs W. A. Graham, wife of the licensee of the Kakanui Hotel, Kaiapoi, to whom the horse and trap belonged. She escaped being thrown out, and the horse was secured by a bystander just as it was on the point of bolting. Master Nable and bis steed escaped unhurt, and perhaps he will in future pay a little more attention to rehearsal before attempting another equestrian performance in public.
