♦ AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB. [fress association telegram.] AUCKLAND, September & At tbe meeting of the Committee of the Auckland Coursing Club the principal business was tbe farther consideration of the protest lodged against the bitch Carrie being declared the winner of the Maiden Stake at the meeting at the Avondale Plnmpton. The question at issue was the identity of tbe bitch, and a great deal of correspondence had -taken place on the subject. The Committee, after fall deliberation, decided to remit tbe whole correspondence to the National Association at Dunedin. It was determined to hold a Challenge Stakes meeting next season, to be run next Jane, tbe Clab guaranteeing £50 added money. Under normal circumstances this should mean more than £100 to the winner. The name of the stakes is fixed as the Northern Challenge Stakes, so as not to clash .with tbe Southern Challenge Stakes to be ran in May. Nomi-1 nations for this stake with the necessary entries are fixed to close on October 18th. Between thirty and forty entries were taken in the room from amongst the dog i owners nresenfe. j
