Wilson is sueing a London eienhig paper for £1000 for libel for licensing him of recklessly expending the funds of the Seamen's Union, of TtLicb he is Secretary. July 25. In his evidence in the libel suit, Wilson admitted that local securities to the extent of £2000 had been embezzled, and also that the expenditure per annum on salaries and management amounted ■to nearly i>20.000 before the members of the Union derived any benefits. Hβ also admitted that it was illegal to apply to the expenses of management £8000 of lubecciptions received for a epeoial purpose.
