Sib,—lt was evident that the late meeting of the Liberal Association was packed by teetotallers and prohibitionists for the purpose of . opposing alterations to the seventh plank. It has also been shown that the President and' Treasurer Attempted to prevent the executive officer of the Association, from disposing of tickets. It is now rumoured that the Prohibitionist section of the officers ot the Association ace trying to oust certain members of the Committee from office, and to obtain their object' offensive oratory is indulged in calculated to annoy the Comtniiteemen referred to. The President of the Association, -by his ruling in the chair, has proved himself iii favour of the direct veto or prohibition plank. The Treasurer of tho Association is, I believe, the identical Mr Ford who gave evidence tgaiust the granting of Jiotnsea in Sydenham. It mast be pateutto observelβ that a certain section of the are tryiug to manipulate it in order*-toTrull -Sir G. \F.
