The s. s. Rotomahana,' Captain G. Allman, arrived from Northern ports, at 7.15 on the 16th. She left Auckland at 0.40 p.m. ou the 11th, called at Gi-bome on the 12th, Napier on 13th, and made fast,to Wellington wharf at' 9 a.m. on the 14th. She left again at 5.30 on the 15th and reached Lyttelton as above. She experienced fine weather throughout tiie passage. Messrs Cook 8r03.' ketch Comet completed the discharging of her cargo of, timber yesterday, and sailed in the evening for Gough's Bay in ballast. Alter waitiug in the stream for a few days for a favourable wind the schooner Alert got away for Dunedin yesterday with a nice north-eaat breeze.

The s.s. Wakatu arrived from Wellington via Kaikoura yesterday- morning, and returned again in the evening. The s.s. Dingadee, Captain Anderson, sailed for Westport direct last night. The barque Lough Neagh was placed in dock yesterday for cleaning and painting. She will probably be floated out on Saturday, and her place taken by the barque Otnelio that will go in for cleaning. Messrs Cook Bros.' ketch Reliance was brought round from Mr Miller's slip early yesterday morning, and waa berthed at the wharf.

The barque North, Captain Fish, is expected to finish her loading to-day, and to sail for the Channel for oruers to-morrow.
