WELLINGTON, May 16. The Executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night, when the President reported that good progress was being made regarding the selection of representatives for the Australian tour, and there waa every reason to believe that an extremely strong combination would leave tho colony. The Secretary read letters from Australia and England. The former showed that preparations for the reception of tho team were in a forward condition. All the affiliated Unions were co-operating cordially. The Treasurer reported that the financial arrangements of the Australian tour wero in a satisfactory condition. The Horowhenua Union, which ia newly formed, applied for admission, and will bo dcalU with at the next meeting.
