CONCERTS.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PRE3S. Sic, —At the recent concert given by the Christchurch Musical Society there was such a commotion in the audience—putting on coats, &c., before the finish of the last chorus—that several pages of music were practically lost to those of us who had been throughout thoroughly enjoying and apprec.ating the musical treat givon to us. Reasons for a discontinuance of such behaviour are obvious, and no further argument is needed thau that which would readily be used by the people in question were they performers instead of auuiouee— viz., that such a habit is offensive both to those who have given the time and taken pains to attain proficiency and to the majority of the audience who go to enjoy what is rendered.—Yours, Ac, A. M. Owen. May 15th, 1893.
