! To-night tho London Gaiety Company ! will commence a season in Chnatcharob i3a the burlesque opera by Sims and Fettitfc, of •'Faust up to Date." Mr & J. Lonncn, the leading man, is th« creator of " Killaloo," *' Euniecorfchy" *»d " Ballyhooloy" tlittfes which ftro pretty known even at this distance from ui£. Mr Ifoancn is spoken, of as a burleaque actajr of great ability, indeed, when it is rdineniberea that for years he luws been, playing second to thp late Mr Fred Leslie, it will bo seen that ho takes high rank. Mr Courfcncidge, who supports Mr Looncn, has a peculiar quaint style of humour, and slugs and dances with a great deal of ability. The ladies are sure, as elsewhere, to fii very, great favourites. Mite Alice Leth"* bridge, Mies Addie Conyera, and Miss A\kk Leanwr have all throughout; the Australia tour won golden opinions. The latter lady does " Ta-ra-re-boom-de-ay " in a style quite as provocative of applause as Miss Lottie Collins herceif. The principals sir* supported by a number of able assistant* and a etrong corps de ballet. All the scenery and effects will be the same m used in Melbourne and Sydney. With regard to the provision for tho com* fort of the audience Mr Hughee haa made most complete arrangements. The space devoted to the orchestra alalia wilt be tilled with chairs, and as every scat has boon sold as reserved nouo will be sold at tho door* For tho second stall* backed seats covered in red have been provided, which will afford a very comfortable ee&t, and at tho earn* time a good position from which to see the performance. The division of the orchestra stalls reaches past the stage side of the : stalls door, and the entrance will be through the door ordinarily used fey the orchestra. There will be no railing round the orchestra, it tit&y be uot«d. The entrance to the second stalls will be by fcbe ordinary stalls door. In front of the dreea circle entrance Mr Hughes is having & Prince of Wales' feathers g*a device- fixed, which will not only be orutuuental but ftleo give good light on the aide walk. Messrs ' Hilner and Thompson have agreed to supply font for -the-dress circle, and ttiesa having the oast of the oharaotera of the piooa performed on them will bo given away by » : «a.g6 suitably attirad.
