COMMERCIAL BANKING COMPANY OF SYDNEY.

This Company was established in 1834, and incorporated in IS4B. There is a London Directory, with Sir J. A. Youl as Chairman, the London office being at 18 Birchin Lane, E.C. The capital is £600,003 in fully paid shares of £25, and the shareholders are liable for a further equal amount. From 1875 to June, 1391, a dividend of 25 per cent, per annum was regularly paid, and in the latter year the £25 shares were quoted at £118. A dividend of 25 per cent, was again declared at the eighty-ninth halfyearly meeting held in Sydney on 20th January last. This absorbed £75,000; the sum of £10,000 was carried to the reserve fund, and an undivided balance of £9857 Is 5d was carried forward.
