The Official Assignee said the statements filed in this estate and that of Harper and Co. had been, put in by Mr Geo. Harper, acting as attorney. Some creditors were secured to a considerable amount, but the details of the securities he had not before him. His remarks would apply also to the firm ot Harper and Co. As far as the Bank was concerned he would have no difficulty at aIL In respect of the details of securities he had no statement before him, and of course could not give any information abont them at present. In answer to Mr Wilding, he said they had a list of the furniture, which was insured, and was in the house at Ham.. A large portion of it was claimed as the private property of MrHarper. The list was sent in by Mrs Harper before she went to England with her daughter. It was unverified by any statutory declaration, and they would have to take the necessary steps to have it verified. There was also some few things which were claimed by Mr Arthur Harper. The furniture claimed by Mrs Harper amounted to about £950. Mr Arthur Harper had stated that he had received an offer to lease the property of Mr L. Harper wfyh the house. He (the Official Assignee) said he could not see his way to do that, unless it was distinctly authorised by the meeting. If it was to be allowed to stand over, it might be well to have a respectable tenant in the house. Mr Wilding said it seemed to him that it was out of the question that the Official Assignee could rent the furniture to any one. In the usual course the Official Assignee would realise. The Official Assignee replied in the affirmative, and said that in realising this asset the claims of Mrs Harper and Mr Arthur Harper would be set aside until proper proof was forthcoming. The meeting was then adjourned, to be called together when the Official Assignee had some report to present.
