The Queen, in replyiug to an address fiom the Priuce of Wales, acknowledged his efforts in founding the Imperial Institute, which was evidence of the universal loyalty of her subjects and a fitting symbol of the unity of the empire. The escort consisted of oue hundred men of the Life Guards and members of the Victorian, New South Wales, Canadian and Indian Artillery teams, iv the order named. Then came the Queen, two hundred of the Life Guards bringing up the rear. The Colonials forming the escort met with an immense ovation while awaiting tbe return of her Majesty from the building at the conclusion of the opening ceremony. Iv her opening address at the Imperial Institute, the Qdoen spoke in a clear voice, but looked infirm, and was leauiug heavily on the arm of the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh.
