The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's cargo steamer Rangatira, Captain Burton, arrived from London via Southern porta About 2 p.m. yesterday, and was at once placed in the berth at the ocean steamarV ■wharf vacated by the Kaikoura. She brings about 1000 tons of general cargo for Lyttelton. She will take in the balance of her frozen mutton at this port, besides & large quantity of cargo, and is expected to continue her voyage North about Wednesday next. The National Mortgage and Agency Company are her agents. The barque approaching the Heads on Wednesday night proved to be the Lough Neagh, 917 tons, Captain Skimin, from Rio de Janeiro. She came up into the stream on Wednesday eveuius;, and was brought to a berth at the Gladstone Pier yesterday afternoon. She comes in ballast to load wheat for the Channel for Messrs Friedlander Bros. She will put out about half her ballast, aad will then go into dock for cleaning, an operation of wnich she stands very much in need. The arrival of the barques Lurliue, Alastor, and Lough Neah, has about filled up the gaps at toe Gladstone pier caused by the sailing of the Pleiades, Robert Scrafton, Opawa, and Leucadia, and the pier is assuming the appearance it is wont to have at this time of the year. The New Zealand Shipping Company's direct steamer Kaikoura sailed yesterday for London, via usual way ports. She left the wharf shortly after eleven o'clock, and went straight away to sea. She was a full ship in the matter of cargo, and took a large number of passengers. The s.s. Taluue, Captain Kennedy, arrived from Melbourne, Hobart, Bluff and Dunedin at 7 a.m. yesterday. She left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on the 2nd and arrived off the Bluff at 7 a.in. on the Bth, left again at 3 p.m. the same day, arriving at Dunedin at 9 a.m. on the 9th, leaving again on 10th at 4 p.m. and arrived as above. Experienced moderate westerly winds with southerly swells throughout the passage.
