Sir.—l think it is much to be regretted that some further steps have not been taken by those who, last ytar, were so warm ou the subject of .bringiug in a Rill to alter tlie constitution of this Board and the mode of election of members. A greater farce does not exist than the election at present. The only constituents are the graduates, who arescattered all over the colony, and if a contest takes . place some of these men are actually paid their expenses for coming to Christchurch, as they must be present to vote.. I think, it is hardly necessary to say more to show the absurdity of having members of a Board having the. distribution of large public estates elected in such a hole and corner manner.. .
