THE CIRCUS.
There was a very large attendance yesterday at both performances of the circus. In the afternoon a very excellent programme was gone through, to the delight of the children who were present on the occasion. In tlie evening the programme of the preceding night was repeated most successfully. Every part of the tent was filled. To-night there will be a change of programme, the principal item in which will be Mr Fillis' sensational act entitled "Saving the Colours." This is a reproduction of the fight of Lieuts. Melville and Chard of the 24th Regiment to save the colours, which is depicted by Mr Fillis in the arena. There are also several other new items on the programme. This afternoon there will be a matinee at 3 p.m., and the Railway Commissioners have arranged for special trains on the Mulvcru and Whiteclifi- lines. As the circus positively closes on Saturday night, those who have not yet taken the opportunity of seeing it should do so.
