NORTH CANTERBURY SALEYARDS COMPANY.

__*_ On Monday a general meeting of shareholders was held in the Literary Institute Hall, Rangiora, Captain A. Parsons, Chairman of Directors, presided. The Chairman said the meeting was held to comply with the Joint Stock Companies Act, and that within four months of the registration the Directors should retire ana a new j election be held. He went on to refer to the excellent prospects of: the Company, and said the first month's yard fees reached £64. It was intended to increase the cattle yards and erect farther offices and refreshment room. The latter had been asked for by the public doing business at the yards and was in no way suggested by the Directors. In reply to a question he said it was expected a license would be obtained for a publican's bar. The directors who retired were then formally re-elected, namely, Captain A. Parsons, Messrs W. Anderson, Jos. Barker, R. Dalziel, M. Macfarlane, J. Stalker, K. Mcintosh, C. Overton, R. Chapman, M. Duncan, H. Blockett, and J. Donds. It was stated that efforts would be made to get a direct road from the Ashley traffic bridge into the saleyards. The proceedings then terminated.
