CHRISTCHURCH. ' Monday, May 8. (Before W. D. Lawrence and W. Langdown, Esqs., J.P.'s.) Dkunkenness.—-Two first offenders wert fined 6a each; Daniel Griffiths, who wai autforing badly from the effects of drink, was remanded for seven days for medical treatment; Daniel Hegarfcy waa fined 10s { Jockom Skott was fined 5« for drunkenness, and ordered to pay 10s, the valuo of a pane of glass broken by him, the property of Goo Butler. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) Maintenance. —Francis Pobar applied for the variation of an existing ordoff directing him to pay £1 per wet-k towardil the maintenance of his wife Margaret. M;t Byrne for applicant, Mr Donnelly to oppose. The grounds for the application were that the applicant had insufficient means to comply with the order, and that Mrs Pobai', from her manner of living, ahowed that ehe was not a "destitute; person "within the meaningof the Act. The circumstances of the cose which led to the granting of the order were gone into at great length, and dually an adjournment μ-os made till May 15th for the production of evidence for Mrs Pobar. Civil Cases.—-Judgment went for plain* tiff by default, with costs, in Berry and Co« v Kioley, £5 7b 6tl. Jones v Wardell wan adjourned till May ISth.
