RE T. W. MAUDE.

The adjourned meeting of creditors in the estate of T. W. Maude was held yesterday at the Government Buildings. Mr G. L. Greenwood, the Official Assignee, presided, and there was a large attendance of creditors. Mr Bruges apologised for the absence of Mr T. W. : Maude, who was unable to attend owing to illness. Ih Bhswer to the Hon. E. W. Parker, Mr Stringer said that no information had been received from the Judge in respect of the consolidating order. The Official Assignee having opened the meeting, said that the principal matter for which they had been called together was connected with the shares in the Lyttelton Times Company, in respect of Mr Maude's estate. It was thought advisable, in view of Mr Malet's approaching visit to England, that the matter should be brought forward before he left. A careful statement had been drawn up by Mr Wilding, and he would ask that gentleman to read it. Mr Wilding was proceeding to read the docnment when

Mr Izard said that the creditors could hardly gather the sense of the document by hearing it read. He would therefore suggest that it be handed to the reporters and the meeting adjourned until it was printed. They could then go quietly through it, and be able afterwards to give their opinion upon it. Mr Wilding said that was a matter for the Official Assignee and the supervisors. Everything so far had been laid before the meeting, and it was thought advisable that this document should also be read. Mr Izard asked if they could take the document as read. The Official Assignee replied that the reading of the document before the meeting was the only course he could pursue.
