PLUMPTON PARK RACING AND TROTTING CLUB.

The Autumn Trotting Meeting of the above Club, which had beeu postponed for a week, came off on Saturday in line though threatening weather. Considering tne amount of raiu that had fallen during the previous fortnight the? running track was in capital order, Che going being such as to iv no way favour one horse more than another, though doubtless a little too holding tor record time to be put up. The attendance was fairly numerous, and speculation was represented by the sum of £1231 being passed through the two totalisators, one of which was for the investment of half-sovereigns. The programme was rather long drawn out, and at this season of the year it would be advisable to curtail the card, more especially when the first event is not timed to start until one o'clock. On Saturday the officials kept things moving the whole time, but darkness was on them before the final event was got off. Good fields were the order of the day, and in a couple of instances the result was iv doubt until within a few engchsof the judge. A fiasco occurred over the stallion race, Kentucky leaving the mark before the order to £o being given, a"nd was thus out of it, and the ouly other opponent to Berlin Abdallah, Young Irvington, breaking up badly, Mr Mace's horse might be said to have had a walk over. Berlin Abdallah was, however, kept hard at work for the whose distance, which he covered in fast time, while Kentucky must have nearly broken the record. A red-hot favourite in Locket came near being pub down in the Plumptoa .Park Handicap, the same mare when carrying fciie bulk of the dollars being just defeated by Pegasus in the Sockbura Handicap, lie UoiDeau, who showed form early in the afternoon, was made a hot favourite for the .Recovery Handicap,- and the odd's on were very easily landed.
