SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The first monthly meeting of" the newly appointed members of the East Christchureh Committee was held at the main, school on Thursday, all the members being present. The head master's report for the month of - : April was read,"~in which he regretted the; loss the school had sustained by the death of Mr'Craddock, and making recommendations with reference to filling ug the vacancy. The caretaker also wroto with reference to • certain repairs required at the main school. It was resolved that the Sub-Committee Bhould meet and ascertain what was urgently necessary to be done before the winter season sets in, and report to bhe Board of Education. Tenders were received for supplies for the year, ending 31st March, 1894, and the following were accepted:— Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs for stationery, and Messrs Win.'-White and Co. for fuel. The following were appointed Sub-Committees"for bhe different schools :— Main school and bath, Messrs Sandstein, Smith, Allison, WiUiama and Pentecost; Phillipstown Murphy and Brunt; South Belt school, Messrs Board and Brown *

The monthly meeting of the Lincoln Committee was held on Monday evening. Present—Messrs .W, Bartram iCJhairman), A. C. Barbram, J. Deberby, J. - McKenzie and Rev. Wright. A lisb of defaulters: was handed in, add the Committee have; decided to take active stetos to compel the children bo attend. -The Chairman was empowered to have someSneceasary work about the gymnasium done. The meeting of the Doyleston Committee was held oh Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs Rennie (Chairman), Rigby, Foster, Doyle, Kissel and Rlckel. The master's report showed an average attendance of 102, roll 123. It was decided thab the . sides -of the bath should be cemented. The meeting then adjourned.
