SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The first monthly meeting of" the newly appointed members of the East Christchureh Committee was held at the main, school on Thursday, all the members being present. The head master's report for the month of - : April was read,"~in which he regretted the; loss the school had sustained by the death of Mr'Craddock, and making recommendations with reference to filling ug the vacancy. The caretaker also wroto with reference to • certain repairs required at the main school. It was resolved that the Sub-Committee Bhould meet and ascertain what was urgently necessary to be done before the winter season sets in, and report to bhe Board of Education. Tenders were received for supplies for the year, ending 31st March, 1894, and the following were accepted:— Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs for stationery, and Messrs Win.'-White and Co. for fuel.
