TREE PLANTING.
TO THE EDITOR OF THB PRESS.
Sra, —It pleased many others and myself very much to read in Saturday's Press that it 13 proposed to plant part of the beach between the Waimakariri and Ashley rivers. Some time ago we petitioned, and the local Boards formed * road from Kaiapoi to this beach. Might I, on behalf of the women of the district, ask you to use yocr pen in advocating the planting of the sides of the road to continue the beautiful avenne which Mr Wearing, I hear, planted on the sides of nearly a mile of the road. If this wa3 done, in a "few years there would be an exceedingly pretty walk made to the seaside.—Yours, &&, Peselope Ann, Kaiapoi, May 28th.
