Tho harvest returns enow a total of 7,373,000 bushels, as against 9,391,000 bushels for the previous year. The surplus available for export is estimated at 4,000,000 bushels. The poorness of the yield is due to small rainfall, severe frosts, and the prevalence of the red rust pest.
